Materials: Stress–Strain Lab

Stress, strain, and the elastic modulus — computed from your load case, checked against the material's known stiffness, and plotted as the operating point on the elastic line, with the factor of safety alongside. Covers §11.0.

Load Case
Elastic line σ = Eε with your operating point in red; the gold dashed line marks nominal yield. FIG. E10-1
Two-Point Modulus (from test data)
The modulus E is a material property, not a part property: it doesn't care about your cross-section. Geometry enters through A and L₀ — stress normalizes force by area, strain normalizes stretch by length, and what remains is pure material.
