Units, Prefixes & Conversions Station
The engineering constants, the SI prefix ladder, a bidirectional converter spanning SI and US customary units — temperature handled with its offset — and the defined-unit expander that unpacks a volt or pascal into base SI. Covers §5.0–§8.0.

Unit conversion is multiplication by one: 25.4 mm / 1 in equals unity, so multiplying by it changes the label, never the physical quantity. Temperature is the lone exception — °F and °C have shifted zeros, so the conversion is affine, not a ratio.
